Q: I have read sections of the course manual and the content seems overwhelming. Will I be able to pass the course?
A: If you do the pre-course reading of the CDAAC manual and the accompanying online quizzes then you should be very successful at completing the course. The course is more about learning than exams. As adults, having an exam does seem to motivate us to crack open the books and study… Also you will spend two days in the classroom making sense of all of the content. You will learn some of those new words that are let’s just say are a bit hard to pronounce with a very experienced instructor.
Q: How do I do the online quizzes? Where do I get my ID and password from?
A: Before you can start your online quizzes, you must fill in and submit the registration form that was sent to whomever registered you if not yourself. The form can be downloaded here (see above) if you cannot find the email that was sent to you. Once we receive the registration form we will enter you into the system and send you your login information.
Q: How am I evaluated, how do I pass the course?
A: The course consists of six module quizzes that you do online and must score 80% or higher on. You can redo each quiz once if needed. At the end of the two day workshop component there is a final exam of 50 multiple choice questions. The passing grade is again 80%. This exam is heavily based on the online quizzes.
Q: How long is the certification good for?
A: To maintain certification, the course must be renewed every three years. This does not mean that your college/governing body requires you to retake the course at any given interval or at all. That decision is made by your governing college. The online quizzes are not required to be completed when renewing but the student must attend day two of the hands on workshop and complete the written exam. Recertification students can come to day one and do the online quizzes at no extra cost if they choose but they are not assigned educational hours if they choose to do so.
